Experience

Freelance Social Media Specialist Current

- Chicago, IL

Throughout the past year, I have worked with several different bands throughout the local Chicago area. With the work I've done with them, I have helped professionalize their social media outlets, created content for daily posts, scheduled weeks to months in advance for their posts, and created plans on times for posting individual content across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and others.

Social Media Manager August 2014 - May 2016

AEMMP Records - Chicago, IL

AEMMP Records is Columbia College Chicago’s student run record label.

I worked as the Social Media Manager, running all the social media profiles for AEMMP Rock’s side of the web. Through this, I help run the Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and help spread updates through out our classes. I created copy and scheduled posts to maximize SEO and our following on all social platforms.

For both years in AEMMP, I always worked general online promotion for both SXSW showcases and all local shows. I've also contributed graphics and personally made flyers to a local event at Beauty Bar and the 2016's showcase at SXSW.

JBTV - Chicago, IL February 2015 - 2016

At JBTV, I typically worked day of show social media. This required covering sound checks and live performances on all social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Snapchat with a unified voice with other social media interns.

On days that shows were not booked, I'd help write copy to schedule across Facebook and Twitter, and also ran monthly contests. I also coded the Tumblr page and began to cycle news and contests onto that page for a wider reach.

Box Office Intern June 2013 - August 2014

Peninsula Music Festival - Door County, WI

After working 2 summers as the Stage Manager, I moved into the office. Leading up to the season, I would tackle daily projects, mailings, and early ticket sales. This also included ticket sales over the phone, customer service, and updating arrival packets for all the artists included. These different responsibilities covered a multitude of formats including Microsoft Word and Excel, Theater Manager for ticket sales, and different creative softwares to create signage.

Come August, my responsibilities included setting up the box office on nights of shows, selling tickets to walk-ins, and retrieving tickets for purchased attendees.

Stage Manager Intern August 2011 - August 2012

Peninsula Music Festival - Door County, WI

This job never held direct hours, typically putting me on call depending on rehearsal schedules and the arrival of performing soloists. The typical job entailed stage step up pre/during/post show, attending to all artists and their needs, and coordinating breaks in performances and stage changes with the orchestra conductor and other staff.
